The field of competitors woke up this morning, the day before competition at the 2021 AFTCO Bassmaster Elite at St. Johns River, to thick fog blanketing the region. I walked down to the river, and it was hard to see the end of the dock where the launch will take place.
So what does this mean?
Well, the National Weather Service is calling for dense fog again tomorrow and Friday. So delays are likely. The question is how long the fog hold. The Weather Service predicts fog tomorrow will be “mainly before 7 a.m.” but on Friday the forecast is for dense fog until about 10 a.m.
And then widespread rain is forecasted for Saturday and Sunday.
So weather will definitely be a player in this event.
