First Forecast For Lake Lanier

THURSDAY’S WEATHER
We’ll have mostly clear skies to start off the day at Lake Lanier, but clouds will move in throughout the day and skies will be mostly cloudy by the end of the fishing day. Take-off temperatures at 6:45 am ET will be in the lower 30s, just above the freezing mark, but will be topping out in the lower 60s by the afternoon. Winds will be out of the south all day around 2-7 MPH and dewpoints will be in the mid-20s and rising into the upper 20s by the end of the day. No rain is expected.

FRIDAY’S WEATHER
Skies will be mainly cloudy throughout the day on Friday and we’ll have a very small threat of a few passing showers, but the better risk for those will be after the end of the fishing day. Temperatures at take-off will be in the mid-40s and will climb into the lower 60s by the afternoon. Winds will be out of the southwest at 4-8 MPH throughout the day and dewpoints will be climbing from the upper 30s to the upper 40s as more moist air begins to move into the area. Rain chances for much of the fishing day will be around 20% and will climb to around 30% before weigh-ins. Rainfall amounts will be light, less than 0.10 inches.

WEATHER FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
Skies will be mostly cloudy throughout both days of the weekend with rain possible at any time. Rainfall is expected to be lighter and a little less in coverage on Saturday, with rain chances hanging around 50% throughout the day. Chances look to be higher, around 60%, along with slightly higher amounts. Saturday morning will start off in the lower 50s at take-off and climbing into the lower 60s by the afternoon. Winds will be out of the west at 5-10 MPH throughout the day. Sunday will start off in the upper 40s at take-off and climb into the lower 60s by the end of the fishing day. Winds will be out of the southeast at 5-10 MPH for much of the day, but shifting out of the south with possible gusts up to 15 MPH by the afternoon. The good news is that lightning is not expected at any time during the tournament.

Saturday: Moonrise at 3:05 pm ET, crossing the midpoint at 10:25 pm ET, and setting at 5:42 am ET Sunday. Illumination will be around 90.7%.

Sunday: Moonrise at 4:13 pm ET, crossing the midpoint at 11:27 pm ET, and setting at 6:36 am ET Monday. Illumination will be around 96.7%.
