Feider on ’em

BASSTrakk shows Seth Feider inside the Top 10 with 13 pounds, 12 ounces, and based on his predictions the best is yet to come.

Could part of the reason for the early good showing be his “On ‘Em hat? The hat was made popular by Matt Robertson, winner of the Bassmaster Team Championship, who earned a berth in the Bassmaster Classic as a result. Robertson, of Kuttawa, Ky., wore the hat—and a flamboyant cape—at the Classic held in Knoxville, Tenn.

Feider is wearing his hat with pride as he continues to make progress this morning on Cayuga Lake. Feider’s practice was so good that he phoned his wife on Monday and told her to shop plane tickets so she could see him win the tournament.

Seider is doing what he does best, which is pitch and flip a jig into thick grass beds like he does on Lake Minnetonka, his home lake.

“I have four rods on the front deck,” he said. “There are two jig rods and two others for Texas-rigged soft plastics.”

He continued, “I’m going to stay up here and catch 17 or 18 pounds, then go down lake and do some damage later in the day with big fish.”
