Evers’ confidence is showing

Edwin Evers has been unusually calm and confident all week. It’s not that he doesn’t exhibit those traits on a daily basis, but several observers have noticed that Evers has it dialed up a couple of notches this week. He’s demonstrating this morning that his confidence is well-founded. BASSTrakk shows Evers with a 20-pound limit in the boat already – and the Classic lead.

“I feel really good about it,” Evers said after weighing 18-3, which left him in 13th place on Day 1. “I had an opportunity to catch a few more pounds, but I feel good about what I had.

“The weights should go up (Saturday). You’re going to be able to fish better (without the gusting wind) and it will open up more of the lake.”

At 8 a.m. on Day 2, Evers has already fished “better” than he did on Day 1.
