Alabama’s Clent Davis is an accomplished angler with a long string of big bass catches in his career. When he brought a five-bass limit to the scales on Day 1 that totaled 6 pounds, 4 ounces, Davis said, “I think that’s the smallest limit I’ve ever weighed-in.” It was big enough to put him in 68th place in the 99-angler field, and that ain’t nothin, as the saying goes.
Davis matched Day 1 with one bass today, a 6-pounder caught at 9:26. As you can see in the photo, it’s got the telltale spawning sign of a worn tail fin. He’s got a pair of 2-pounders to go with it today. That 10-11 total has him in 32nd place at 10:45, on this day when the field will be cut to the top 50 for Day 3.
