Chris Johnston came into this tournament ranked 5th in the Angler of the Year standings. But that was in jeopardy after Day 1 at Neely Henry when Johnston finished 67th with a 7-pound, 5-ounce limit. However, as tight as the standings are here, there’s plenty of opportunity to move inside the top 48 and advance to compete Sunday on Day 3. And Johnston is doing exactly that. He caught his 5th keeper just after 10 a.m. Johnston’s early 10-pound, 4-ounce bag has moved him up the BassTrakk standings into 30th place at 10:15 a.m.
