Hank Cherry’s goal in today’s practice is the same as it was in the Friday through Sunday pre-practice days. He’s not trying to find out where the fish are staging now; he wants to uncover clues about where they’re going. And he found a 9-pound, 11-ounce clue in the final hours Sunday.
“It was my last bite (Sunday),” Cherry said. “Now my practice wasn’t great. I caught five the first day, three the second and two the third. But I think I narrowed down where they’re going. You’ve got to practice where they’re going this time of year. Some of their friends are already there, so hopefully more will show up for the party.”
