Championship Saturday has started for the 2021 Mossy Oak Fishing Bassmaster High School National Championship presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors and the leaders Carter Doren and Ryan Lachniet from the Sin City Bass Club are off to a good start.
So far, the duo has landed one keeper bass, something they haven’t done in the morning hours of this tournament so far. This week, their bite has gotten better as the day progresses.
Doren and Lachneit started the day with a two-day total of 26 pounds, 3 ounces. They started their tournament by catching 15-1 and followed up with 11-2 yesterday.
Forward-facing sonar has been a huge asset for them this week as well.
Currently, the duo is focusing on a row of docks South of takeoff, using a variety of slower presentations to try and coax a bite.
