in 1994, Fears set what were then the one day and three day weight records for the five-fish-limit era…and he did it here at Santee.
On Day 1 he caught over 30 pounds of South Carolina bass. So far this week there have been a handful of 20+lb bags, topped by Carl Jocumsen’s 25lb limit on Day 1.
With fishing seemingly getting tighter, a 30lb bag could blow this event wide open. The potential is there, but it will take a magical day for it to happen.
