Bobby Lane makes a move

According to the BASSTrakk Twitter feed we have a big mover up the leader board.

He is Bobby Lane, a native Floridian and highly skilled shallow water angler, especially during spawning season.

The Marshal’s posting shows Lane caught a pivotal 8-pounder at 10:30 a.m. His total for 5 keepers is 17 pounds, 12 ounces.

Early on, we heard predictions about how one big bass could move an angler way up the leader board. Under normal circumstances just one big bass doesn’t add up to much on Okeechobee. Normally, it takes a full sack of biggies to matter and push an angler to the top of the scoreboard.

Based on what’s happened thus far, which is slow fishing, those one or two big bass in a livewell will make a huge difference by weigh-in time.
