“Better than Fork.”

We’ve switched off Chris Zaldain after watching him load the boat with smallmouth bass this morning. Basstrakk has him at 18 pounds. I’m saying it’s heavier than that by at least a couple pounds.

Now we are watching Lee Livesay just a few miles away and he’s catching largemouth on virtually every cast.

When we rolled up on him he was catching one. It looked to be 3- pounds plus and he never gave it another look before tossing it back. Next cast was a 4-pound plus. And it went in the well. Then came a big smallmouth.

“This is insane,” Livesay said. “It’s better than Fork.”

For a guy who caught 100 pounds earlier this year on Lake Fork that’s quite the statement.

Basstrakk has Livesay in third with 18 pounds. No longer than we’ve been here we believe that’s light. Only time will tell.

Champlain though is showing out yet again.
