Ashley’s stellar career

It has been slow for Casey Ashley this morning— which has given me time to look back at his career.

Ashley, now 34, has been fishing Bassmaster tournaments since 2006 and joined the Elite Series in 2007, which was the second year of the Elites. He won at Virginia’s Smith Mountain Lake, becoming the youngest angler to win an Elite tournament. That record still stands.

Lake Oahe is his 141st Bassmaster tournament. He has won four, including the 2015 Bassmaster Classic on Lake Hartwell in his home state of South Carolina. Ashley lives in nearby Donalds. He has competed in nine Classics.

Out of his 141 tournaments Ashley has made a check 90 times, and he’s had 25 top 10 finishes. Will he add another one this week? Ashley started today in 3rd place. And he’s 5th in Toyota Angler of the Year standings.
To date Ashley has made nearly $1.5 million in Bassmaster earnings.
