Ashley’s on his spot

Casey Ashley arrived at his spot near the Highway 212 bridge a couple minutes before 7 a.m. With the hour-and-a-half delay yesterday, he didn’t start catching his fish until 8:45 a.m. yesterday, and he was done in 34 minutes. Ashley’s bag of 20 pounds, 6 ounces was the biggest of the day – and he caught it, again, in 34 minutes, according to BASSTrakk.

Ashley starts the day 1 pound, 10 ounces behind leader Mark Daniels Jr., who is fishing nearby, but out of sight.
His first catch of the day – a 2-pound walleye. “That ain’t good,” Ashley said. “First one of the week.”
