Matt Arey began the day in second place, only 4 ounces out of the lead. He’s had a painful morning with only two bass weighing a total of 2 3/4 pounds almost midway through the 10 o’clock hour.
However, Arey is demonstrating just how quickly you can get well on Lake Guntersville. He’s located a school and is catching a bass on almost every cast.
“I’m heading in the right direction now,” Arey said. “I’m fixing to start cooking with gas.”
He’s rocketed back into contention with two 4-pounders and a 13-8 limit in less than 10 minutes.
