With an hour left, Jacob Powroznik and Dave Lefebre appear to be shoo-ins for a six-hour semifinal matchup Thursday. Both have double-digit leads and their opponents – Steve Kennedy and Kelley Jaye – are struggling.
“I’m trying not to fish too many docks because I want to save them,” Lefebre said earlier.
Based on what we saw in the first 30 minutes, Powroznik might be the favorite. He was landing quality 2-pounds-plus bass on cast after cast while drop-shotting. We haven’t seen anyone have a quality flurry like that in the first two days at Pokegama Lake. However, fishing is too unpredictable to handicap. There might be a rally left in Kennedy or Jaye.
