Kevin Short is crazy. He is hiding way, way, way up a creek on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River. That's a fairly vague way to describe his location. We try to respect angler's secret spots and not give away too many details. But the truth of the matter is no sane person would drive a bass boat back here. We could post the latitude and longitude data on his exact location and no other competitor would come back here.
We left the main channel at 6:50 and two and a half hours later we still haven't reached him. Kenny Whitehead our driver estimates we've travel 25 miles up this creek. We've hand-pushed our way through several downed trees and now we've met our match. Can't get past this one. So we're waiting for the tide to raise the water a couple more inches. Then we'll continue our hunt for Short. This territory is so wild Steve Bowman remarked, "If New Jersey had pigmies they'd live back here." This territory also looks a lot like a big feeder creek on the Arkansas River, Kevin Short's native land.
