Not many Elite anglers post photos of a patch of coneflowers, but Rick did. ‘Saw these at the boat ramp at Cayuga today. Melissa has always spoke of their healing qualities. Most I have ever seen in one area.’

Rick also posted a photo of some mushrooms after the last Elite event. ‘I took a walk in the woods and came across these beautiful mushrooms and thought of my mushroom expert back at home. When I was a young angler I thought I would figure out the mystery of fishing. Just when I was close, the mystery has eluded me. All things wild should remain just that. I am grateful for that.’

Last season Clunn added another accolade to his already impressive career. ‘100-pound club belt presented to me for my catch at Falcon! Pretty surprised and proud.’
