Pros’ picks for Green Bay

Who do the pros think will bring the biggest bags at Green Bay?

GREEN BAY, Wis. – In previous events, there’s always been a previous history of the lake and a certain style of fishing can typically be predicted. This week’s Mystery Lake, now known as Lake Michigan, is just as unfamiliar with the fans as it is with the anglers. The only thing we know thus far is that it’s a smallmouth-dominated fishery and it can be anybody’s tournament to win.

Here’s how they picked:

Matt Greenblatt:

Edwin Evers: “He’s versatile and he can fish shallow and deep.”

Nate Wellman: “He’s a local and he can finesse fish as well as power fish.”

Fred Roumbanis: “I’ve seen him around some good stuff and he’s another versatile angler.”

Dustin Wilks:

Aaron Martens: “He’s really good in this type of water.”

Todd Faircloth: “He’s got momentum coming off a win from last week.”

Randy Howell: “He’s driven to win the AOY race.”

Marty Robinson:

Jason Williamson: “He’s been catching fish pretty good this week.”

Casey Ashley: “He understands big bodies of water.”

“I have no idea how to even pick three guys in this event.”

Jason Williamson:

Dean Rojas: “Never know if he may find a frog bite.”

Jonathon VanDam: “Local knowledge if there is any.”

Nate Wellman: “He’s a good angler in the Northern bodies of water.”

Casey Ashley:

Kenyon Hill: “I just have a gut feeling that he’s going to have a good turnout.”

JVD: “He’s from around this area and a good smallmouth fisherman.”

Chad Griffin: “He’s due for a good event.”

Mike McClelland:

Jeff Kriet: “Anytime you get around smallmouth, he’s going to figure it out really well.”

KVD: “He understands conditions. Despite if the wind blows, Kevin will get where he needs to be.”

John Murray: “He’s always really strong when we get around smallmouth lakes.”

Chris Lane:

Derek Remitz: “He lives pretty close to this area.”

Travis Manson: “Another local that should do well here.”

Mike McClelland: “He’s due.”

Brandon Palaniuk:

Myself: “As always, I believe I can win.”

Jared Lintner: “He’s a West Coast guy, but I just have a good feeling about him.”

KVD: “It suits his style and he’s good on these big bodies of water.”

Fletcher Shryock:

KVD: “He lives here.”

JVD: “ He also lives here and they both understand this type of fishery.”

Todd Faircloth: “He’s on a roll, so I think he’s going to do well again.”
