The Aurora Bassmasters volunteered to help organize and run the annual Fairy Lake Urban Fishing Festival in Newmarket, Ontario.

The goal is to highlight Fairy Lake as a public urban fishery to local residents, especially children and families. During the festival, members of the Aurora Bassmasters promoted safe and effective fish handling, invasive species awareness, conservation principles and a sense of stewardship for the aquatic resource.
