MT. AIRY, N.C. — When Farm to Feet pro-angler Andy Montgomery makes his first cast at the Bassmaster Classic, he will be relying on his signature Farm to Feet Blacksburg socks as he targets Lake Hartwell’s biggest bass.
Farm to Feet, makers of 100 percent American socks, is launching its quick drying, Blacksburg sock with UPF protection, designed for anglers and boating enthusiasts, at the 2015 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by GoPro Feb. 20-22 in Greenville, S.C. The socks will be available to the public for the first time at the Farm to Feet booth (511) at the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo Feb. 20-22, 2015, at the TD Convention Center.
“I’ve been testing and fishing in Blacksburgs all season and while I’m not one for superstitions, I am a fisherman, and these socks have certainly brought me some good luck,” said Montgomery. “They are incredibly comfortable and allow me to worry about one less thing and take care of the task at hand.”
2014 was Montgomery’s most successful season to date. Last year included a win at the Bass Pro Shops Southern Open, a fifth place finish at the Angler of the Year Championship and culminated with a spot in bass fishing’s biggest event, the Bassmaster Classic. Montgomery previously qualified for the Classic in 2011, where he finished in 36th place.
The Blacksburg is knit with a combination of US-sourced nylons and elastic yarns in a unique design that allows water drain quickly. Additionally, one of the yarns used in the construction is a PTFE nylon that not only sheds water, but also dries quickly and provides UV protection. Blacksburg socks are offered in low ($16) and quarter crew heights ($17) and in white, black and tan colors.
Farm to Feet names all of its socks after U.S. locations tied to the brand or its partners. The Blacksburg socks are named for Montgomery’s hometown of Blacksburg, S.C., about 60 miles north of Greenville.
