Sharon Rushton has announced the publication of her book, No Paved Road to Freedom.

The plot has nothing to do with fishing, but its theme is dear to every American’s heart: freedom. It’s the true story of how one man endured torture and starvation to escape communist Romania.

More information can be found at  NoPavedRoadtoFreedom.com. The book can be purchased from Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and select bookstores.

Rushton, a pioneer in the Women’s Bassmaster Tour, now competes in the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Central Opens as a co-angler.

A resident of Kimberling City, Mo., Rushton is a 2011 inductee into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in the enshrinement category. Her work in the outdoor field includes writing for several educational projects, including the Hooked On Fishing — Not On Drugs Program, the Step Outside program, Fishing Fun For Kids booklet, and Best Practices Workbook For Boating, Fishing, and Aquatic Resources Stewardship Education.
