The Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association was formed in 1964 to develop North Alabama’s travel industry and market the region to the traveling public.

The Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association was formed in 1964 to develop North Alabama’s travel industry and market the region to the traveling public. Today, the association serves 16 counties with an ever-expanding membership base representing progressive travel-regulated businesses and associations as well as various levels of government. Pickwick, Wheeler, Wilson, Guntersville, Weiss, Lewis Smith Lake, Neely Henry and the Bear Creek lakes are all part of the north Alabama fishery, and each offers great fishing opportunities.
