Gear Review: Strike King Pre-Rigged Carolina Rig

Keeping a stash of pre-rigged Carolina-rigged weights will save rigging time.

What is it?

Strike King EZ-Rig

What does it do?

Pre-rigged Carolina-rig weight system for ease of implementation and use.

What sets it apart?

Having anything pre-rigged makes execution much easier, and the Strike King EZ-Rig is no exception. The rig eliminates wasting time searching for the right components, and the time it takes to set one up. Two rigs to a package ready to be attached to your line means you only have to tie a couple of knots to start fishin. Available in 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 ounces.

How do I use it?

Cut a length of line about 18-24 inches from your main line, attach the EZ-Rig to your main line, and attach the trimmed portion to the bottom of the EZ-Rig, then attach the hook and bait. It’s really that simple, and offers an additional presentation that might be more effective than a traditional Texas-rig under circumstances that might include a weedy or muddy bottom.

How much?

$5.69 per 2 pack

Editor insight:

The Carolina-rig has been around for a while, but most of us have been tying it together with scattered components rolling around in the bottom of our tackle boxes. Strike King addressed a common problem and created a simple solution. This is a headache reducer, plain and simple!
