Gear Review: St. Croix Mojo Bass Fly Rods

What is it?

St. Croix Mojo Bass Fly Rods

What does it do?

This rod series helps anglers target bass with fly gear while providing the required backbone to cast larger baits and handle bigger fish.

What sets it apart?

Keeping with the tradition of building top-tier, technique- and species-specific rods, St. Croix recently introduced the Mojo Bass Fly Rods, which are specifically designed for catching big bass on a whippy rod tip and thick line. The lightweight SCII graphite blanks are designed with a moderate-fast action that helps the rod load quickly and cast accurately. All three rods in the series are tournament legal measuring 7 feet and 11 inches, and are available in 7- 8- and 9-weight models.

How do I use it?

The relaxed, moderate-fast action is ideal for casting large, wind-resistant poppers, hair frogs, crawfish, streamers and nymphs all day long. And, when you do finally nail a pig, the rod will adequately do battle with any bass you can find.

How much?
