Gear Review: Loomis GLX Series

What is it?

G. Loomis GLX series of rods

What sets it apart?

G. Loomis raised the bar back in 1993 after introducing a line of rods strictly built out of graphite – they were all the rave. Now with the introduction of the next generation, Loomis raised the bar yet again with 35 new GLX bass, technique-specific rods, 20 casting and 15 spinning rods are available in the lineup.

How do I use it?

Anglers will quikcly notice the blanks are up to 20 percent lighter featuring better handle design ergonomics, but where the rods really shine is the improved balance that enhances the rod’s overall fishability.

How much?

$415-$455

Angler’s insight:

Yes, they are expensive, but if you’ve ever fished with a Loomis stick, then you know why they aren’t cheap. When it comes to paying for quality, Loomis is no exception. They are a pure pleasure to fish with, and when you look at an extensive lineup of technique-specific rods like this one, you’re sure to find your new favorite rod. I promise, you’ll love them!
