Gear Review: Lander Neve

We test the toughest iPhone Lightning cable we could find.

What is it?

Lander Neve

What does it do?

It charges your phone or tablet if you have an Apple device. It also reflects light so it’s easy to find in a dark backpack or in the dark.

What sets it apart?

The Neve is not your typical charging cable. It’s a cable made for people who do things like get into boats or sit in tree stands. The cord itself is a woven nylon mesh that feels like it would take some serious effort to cut. Where the cord meets the connector is usually where charing cables fail, and with the way the Neve is constructed it seems like a very little chance of that happening. Nothing about this feels flimsy, unlike every other phone charging cord you own.

How do I use it?

You use it just like you would any USB to lightning cable, like the one that came with your iPhone. It’s certified by Apple, unlike that sketchy cable you bought at a gas station for $5.

How much?

$29.95

Editor insight:

A charging cable might not be the thing that gets you a fish, but it’s the thing that keeps you connected after a long day on the water. This cord is over-engineered and capable of taking a beating, unlike every other one I’ve had. It costs $10 more than your typical Apple-certified cable, and what you get for that money seems to be (so far) invincibility. Worth it to me.
