Gear Review: Jackall Muscle Deep crankbait

What is it?

Jackall Muscle Deep Crankbait

What sets it apart?

Long casts are essential to effective cranking, as they widen the retrieve angle and allow the bait more time in the strike zone. Designed on that principle, the Muscle Deep series features a system of internal weights that slide along an inner track to lengthen casts, while the minimal profile helps keep the bait in the strike zone longer. Made with noisy rattles, this floating crankbait calls in the fish as it bumps along rock, wood, etc.

How do I use it?

The Muscle Deep comes in three sizes, starting with the 7+, which measures 2.3 inches, weighs 1/2 ounce and dives to 7 feet. The Muscle Deep 10+ is 2.5 inches, 1/2 ounce and hits 11 feet. The big boy of the bunch, the 2.8-inch Muscle Deep 15+ weighs 3/4 ounce and dives to 18 feet. All models are fitted with No. 4 treble hooks.

Angler’s insight:

Finding deep fish is one thing; presenting a bait in their strike zone is the necessarily pertinent other. With three sizes covering a broad depth range and a profile that mimics a variety of natural forage, this bait offers the fish appeal crankers seek. The light, compact design also minimizes casting fatigue, and after a full day of chucking and winding, the ability to keep going as long as the fish are biting is a plus.
