Gear Review: Costa Copra

What is it?

Costa Copra

What sets it apart?

Celebrate patriotic pride with these limited edition red, white and blue glasses designed and built in the USA for the supportive lady in your life. Available USA white and USA blue options, the Copra series takes its name from the practice of pressing dried, chopped coconut for its oil. The relevant connection is the use of those broad palm leaves for shelter from harsh Pacific island sun.

Heavy-duty TR-90 nylon frames are hand-made with a comfortable medium fit and include Costa’s limited lifetime warranty. Each pair of Copras comes with a Custom Sunglass Case, C-Mask and Cleaning Cloth.

How do I use it?

Glass lenses provide the highest clarity and scratch resistance, while the Copra’s plastic lenses offer a cost-effective and impact-resistant option without sacrificing clarity. Both have 100 percent UV blockage for maximum protection, 100 percent polarization to kill reflected glare and Costa’s 580 technology, which selectively filters out the harsh yellow and harmful high-energy ultraviolet blue light, making colors brighter and objects appear more defined.

Costa offers six lens options for a full range of sunlight intensity.

Angler’s insight:

If you take your significant other fishing, she will not only look good on the water—as she always does—but now with extra style and applicability. The right sunglasses are an absolute necessity for eye protection and an invaluable tool for many angling applications, a comfortable pair of polarized sunglasses bears indisputable impact on your game. Sight anglers picking out beds, isolated cover and shallow submerged weeds appreciate the ability to eliminate glare and peer into the water; while the spotting shallow obstructions before they become an issue ensures navigational safety.
