Berkley Havoc Smash Tube
What does it do?
It’s a tube that Mike Iaconelli designed after his most successful tubes, the ones that he found in the bottom of his tackle storage box that were smashed flat, hence the Smash Tube.
Why do I need it?
Iaconelli says that the flattened nature of this tube allows for better hookups and gets out of the way better, so fish stay buttoned up.
How do I use it?
You can drag it on a jighead or pitch and flip it into cover. Either way, tubes are proven fish-catchers.
What sets it apart?
The flattened section of this 4-inch tube is the real selling point, but secondary to that is the two-tone color scheme. The outside of the tube is one color while the inside of it is another, giving the bait a more versatile range of uses. As the bait settles on the bottom or is moved, the tentacles flare and expose the second color. Six color patterns are available.
