B.A.S.S. and Scoutlook team up

Bassmaster Opens angler Scott McGehee of Madison, Miss. has signed on the ScoutLook Weather App as a sponsor. Scoutlook has recently added a new FishLog App, sponsored by B.A.S.S., that automatically captures weather information at the time of catch.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Need to know whether to expect a brisk breeze on the water this week? Or wondering whether the barometric pressure in your area is going to affect the bass bite? Well, there’s an App for that. In the newly announced partnership with B.A.S.S., LLC., and the ScoutLook mobile weather app for anglers and other outdoorsmen, ScoutLook Weather Fishlog, brought to you by Bassmaster, combines all elements anglers need to prepare for conditions on their favorite fishery.

Like the ScoutLookweather.com website, the app has a free Fishlog created by outdoorsmen to suit everyone from the weekend angler to the seasoned pro. One  professional angler who uses ScoutLook religiously when he competes in Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens is Scott McGehee of Madison, Miss. He has so much confidence in the digital app that he signed ScoutLook as a sponsor.

“In addition to the online resources offered by ScoutLook, the ScoutLook FishLog app gives me the same information on my smartphone while at the same time allowing me to keep an accurate, up-to-date log of my fish catches, as well as showing their locations on the satellite picture,” McGehee said. “These logs are a great on-the-water reference.”

Bill Little, co-founder of ScoutLook, said, “Bassmaster.com is a fabulous resource for all things bass, with tips and other content to improve your time on the water. We are delighted to have B.A.S.S. as the title sponsor of our FishLog Weather App that automatically captures time, date, location, weather, wind and moon information at time of catch and enables fish logging with simple drop-down selections — no typing. This app syncs with your PC, so you can review logs on your phone or PC on our QuickLog page for free.”

McGehee will compete next at the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Central Open on Fort Gibson Lake in September. He plans to use ScoutLook’s FishLog app on his smartphone to help keep up with his catches. Even more important, he added, ScoutLookweather.com provides the weather information he needs for a week on the water.

“Accurate weather forecasts are one of the most important factors in a tournament fisherman’s safety and success on the water,” said McGehee. “Their detailed forecast gives me an accurate, up-to-date forecast that includes an hourly breakdown of the forecast, temperature, wind speed and direction for the upcoming 72 hours, making it much easier to plan my tournament days and to anticipate the constantly changing weather conditions. Their Driftpoint map allows me to pull up a satellite map of any lake and see what areas will be fishable based on the current wind directions and speeds.”
