Boat sinks, Schramm swamped

Just as I’m writing a back story about Brian Schramm I get a text message from him with this pic.

Fifteen minutes into the day he landed a smallmouth weighing about 4 pounds. That’s exactly what he planned to catch, plus four more, until opening the livewell lid. Upon doing so he discovered water gushing forth into the boat. It seems his bilge pump failed.

As I write this BoatUS dispatched a rescue boat and it’s headed to Pelee Island, where this photo was taken.

“It was pretty scary but we made it to the beach,” he said.

Read more about Schramm tonight in my story on Bassmaster.com. Trust me, it has little to do with bass fishing. That’s not a bad thing for Schramm.
