Lures of the Top 12

Prior to takeoff I went boat to boat with Garrick Dixon, who photographed the lures of the Top 12. I’ll write the cutlines to his photos after we wrap up.

What was neat to see was the wide spectrum of lures in use.

Lots of white lures, in fact, to match the shad spawning in the lake. Baits range from a Heddon Zara Spook, saltwater size in a bone color by Adrian Avena, to a worm rigged with a 1/8 or 1/16 ounce slip sinker in use by Dave Lefebre. Chatterbaits, swim baits, frogs and lots of wild soft plastics, including a yet-to-be-named Z-Man prototype used by Stephen Browning.

We will all learn about how to better use all of the above to catch more and bigger fish.
