He needs every bit of that after a surprisingly uncharacteristic performance in the opener at Cherokee Lake. Hite finished 101st with totals of four bass weighing 9-4 over two days, in clear, smallmouth bass waters where he normally excels. But then Hite’s pretty good everywhere. Cherokee was the shocker; Hite having 24-8 today is not.
