Curse of cold

BASSTrakk‘s queue of entries has slowed to a crawl. Only one bass each weighing 4 and 5 pounds have been logged by the marshals.

The reason is the incoming cold front. Major cold fronts reaching this far south are usually major weather systems. That’s the case here. By the time a front collides with the tropic air this far south it only drops the temperature a few degrees. Here, that’s a lot and the drop can shut down the bite.

As such, this tournament has gone from a blowout to a slug out. It’s highly probable, based on the skill sets of the Top 12, that one of them will catch a big bass. Eight pounds seems to be the mark this week.

Should someone do that, all it takes is looking at the current scoreboard in BASSTrakk to figure out that just about anyone in the Top 5 stands a chance of taking the lead.
