My 14-year old boys Jackson and Nicholas and I, along with my brother-in-law Russ, just wrapped up a hunting trip in Texas.
We spent three days hunting a private lease in south Texas.
I'd been planning this trip for awhile and told my boys that if they could keep up with school work and get good grades, I’d take them with me.
I was excited to expose my boys to a variety of big game and terrain that they never see in Michigan.
The boys truly experienced the hunt of a lifetime. Nicholas shot a 9 pointer.
Jackson shot an 8 pointer.
The kids also shot hogs, birds, ducks and a coyote.
Another guy in camp killed a rattlesnake.
Russ got a nice deer, too.
I was a little concerned that long days of hunting and nights spent around camp might test the patience or be too much for a couple of 14-year-olds, but they couldn’t get enough of it and didn’t want to come home. We're already looking forward to next year.
