After talking to teams this morning at takeoff, we decided to drive around and look for teams that we could reach from land. We stumbled upon the University of Alabama first.

Logan Shaddix (left) and Frankie Appaluccio were the last men in the Top 5 and snuck in with 11-11. They trailed 4th place by just an ounce and making the bracket was the only think on the Crimson Tide's mind.

Appaluccio and Shaddix were accompanied by canoes, kayaks, walleye fishermen and pike anglers at their primary spot but no one was bothered.

The Alabama team was pitching jigs to the shallow rocky cover near one of the dams on Lake DuBay. The current areas have been beaten up by a lot of fishing, which they aren't accustomed to.

Because these things live up there. They aren't so forgiving on a fiberglass boat either.

Since I was on the shoreline I was poking around all of the bushes, trees and rocks that surround DuBay.

These guys were just watching the anglers fish..are there Alabama fans up in Wisconsin too? I didn't mutter Roll Tide, but I thought about it.

Minnesota was throwing a shaky head and drop shot around the Mosinee Dam. The swift water also provided a nice haven for smallmouth.
