'Tackling the Storm' in Oklahoma

Don Barone is a passionate and unique voice in bass fishing and a very important part of our coverage of the Bassmaster Elite Series here on Bassmaster.com. Over the last year, he's poured his passion into something else as well. Tackle the Storm Foundation was started by Barone after seeing the devastation left by a tornado in Cullman, Ala., and deciding that while it wouldn't fix everything, putting fishing gear in the hands of children affected would be a good start. 

This past weekend at the site of a deadly EF5 tornado that struck on May 20, 2013, Barone delivered.

More than 375 children in the Moore, Okla., area spent Saturday fishing with "db" and some of the world's best anglers. Fred Roumbanis, Edwin Evers, Brent Chapman, Dave Smith, Jason Christie, Kevin Ledoux and Tommy Biffle from the Bassmaster Elite Series participated in the event. 

Don is currently on the road, but you can expect a column from him on the successful event later in the week. It will most likely include song lyrics and may make you cry.
