Skeeter announces 2017 Skeeter Owners Tournament dates

KILGORE, Texas — Following another record breaking Skeeter Owners Tournament on June 11 and 12, Skeeter is thrilled to announce that the dates for the 2017 Skeeter Owners Tournament will be June 8-11, 2017, on Lake Fork east of Dallas, Texas.

A total of 2,190 anglers — all of them driving Skeeter bass boats — hit the water on Lake Fork earlier this month for their chance to win hourly prizes and a new Skeeter® FX20 with a Yamaha SHO® outboard engine or a Yamaha Viking® Side-by-Side vehicle.

Skeeter Vice President Jeff Stone said the event is a way for Skeeter to thank their clients and Skeeter enjoys putting on a great tournament.

“Each year, it just amazes me how much this tournament grows,” Stone said. “The turnout from all over the country is incredible. We had good weather — not too hot — and the anglers once again caught many fish over 24 inches, as in the past tournaments.”

“This is a great opportunity for us to thank our customers,” Stone said. “Next year, we expect it to be just as much fun and we will continue the traditions we’ve established.”

Skeeter would like to thank all of the anglers, volunteers and sponsors that made the 2016 event possible.

“We would also like to thank each of our vendor/sponsors that provide so many of the amazing prizes which help Skeeter give back to our owners.” said JoAnne O’Bryant, Senior Marketing Projects Manager for Skeeter.

When the tournament ended Sunday afternoon, Eric Blane of Montgomery, Texas, was admiring his new fully rigged Skeeter FX20 with a Yamaha250SHO outboard engine after bringing a 9.04-pound largemouth bass to the scales on Sunday morning.

Also winning a Yamaha Viking Side by Side vehicle was Simpson Rushing of Forney, Texas, as he weighed in his chunky 2.81 bass, for the largest bass under the slot.
