Have you ever fished a B.A.S.S. tournament or fished with a B.A.S.S. pro? If you're like most avid bass anglers, the answer is no. But it doesn't have to be.

Have you ever fished a B.A.S.S. tournament or fished with a B.A.S.S. pro? If you’re like most avid bass anglers, the answer is no. But it doesn’t have to be. Next year could be your bass fishing breakout year. You could fish with a top Elite Series angler or even nine-time Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year Roland Martin. (He just signed up to fish the Bassmaster Southern Opens as a professional.)

All you have to do is sign up to fish the Bassmaster Opens as a co-angler. We’re currently accepting entries for the Opens, and you should consider signing up.

Here are three great reasons to fish the Opens as a co-angler:

(1) You’ll be paired with a talented professional — maybe even an Elite Series angler — and have a chance to learn directly from one of the very best. Watch him dissect the lake or see him fish a technique that will make you a better bass angler.

(2) If the tournament’s on your home waters, you’ll see the lake through different eyes — the eyes of a top professional. If you’re traveling to fish the event, you’ll get an advanced course on how to fish a new body of water.

(3) The competition is intense, but so is the camaraderie. There are friends to be made, lessons to be learned and prize money to be earned. There are three Opens divisions and each offers a three-tournament season.
