The Southern Division of the American Fisheries Society is proud to announce the Noreen Clough Memorial Scholarship for Females in Fisheries.

ATLANTA — The Southern Division of the American Fisheries Society is proud to announce the Noreen Clough Memorial Scholarship for Females in Fisheries.

Noreen Clough, who died Jan. 16, was the former conservation director for B.A.S.S. and the first female regional director for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Her long and distinguished career was dedicated to the conservation and management of fish and wildlife. She served as a mentor and revered colleague to countless members of the bass fishing conservation family.

The scholarship in her name is a tribute to Clough’s impact on the lives of the people she touched and on the resources she helped conserve.

The scholarship will go to a female student working toward a career in fisheries conservation and/or management. In the coming months, panelists from the Southern Division’s Black Bass Conservation Committee will develop an application process. The award will be presented at the annual meeting of the Southern Division of the American Fisheries Society.

The Black Bass Conservation Committee is currently accepting tax-deductible donations in an effort to build an endowment. To contribute, visit this page, or send your check, payable to Black Bass Conservation Committee, to:
