Murray, Lowen win ICAST casting contest

John Murray and Bill Lowen put their skills to the test in front of a large crowd at ICAST.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Bill Lowen and John Murray proved they're among the top casters in the country last week at ICAST during the 2015 American Tackle Co. Flip-Off Competition.

The pair made up one of 16 two-man teams, all competing in a bracket format to determine who the best flippers in attendance were. Murray and Lowen were Team Lew's.

Other competitors included fellow Bassmaster Elite Series pros Aaron Martens and Jason Christie, Opens angler Trevor Fitzgerald, B.A.S.S. Nation anglers Brian Thrift and Jason Lambert and the first College B.A.S.S. angler to ever qualify for the Bassmaster Classic, Andrew Upshaw.

The competition was held Thursday afternoon, July 16, and drew a crowd of interested onlookers for more than two hours of casting.
