How to follow BASSTrakk at the Classic

When Bassmaster Marshals input a contender's catch on the BASSTrakk app, you can see it on Bassmaster.com or on Twitter.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Do you want to know about every fish as it’s caught during the 2014 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by Diet Mountain Dew and GoPro?

You can, using BASSTrakk.

At the end of last season, we tested a Twitter feed that would allow fans to get updates in real time, delivered straight to their smartphones. It worked swimmingly, and now it will be operational for the Classic.

Want updates? Follow @BASSTrakk on Twitter.

Note that this Twitter account will post multiple times during a competition day — 275 if each competitor catches exactly five fish. So if you only want periodic updates, follow our main @BASS_Nation account.

Fans can also visit the BASSTrakk page on Bassmaster.com to get an unofficial scoreboard during competition times. The map of Lake Guntersville will be present on Friday and Saturday, but anglers’ locations on the map will display on Sunday only.

“This tournament is so important to the competitors that giving their locations away to the other contenders or to spectators could be detrimental,” explained Jim Sexton, vice president of digital for B.A.S.S.

“The Classic anglers put a lot of work into choosing their spots, and we want to help them keep them as private as possible.”

Other ways to keep up with the action include the Live Blog, the Lowrance War Room and BASSCams.
