Florida angler holds lead in Weekend championship

Mike Jackson of San Mateo, Fla., angler brought in another 20-plus pound bag and holds a 3-pound lead going into the final day of the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series National Championship, where the final Classic berth will be awarded.

SUMMERTON, S.C. – Mike Jackson did it again.

The San Mateo, Fla., angler brought in another bag weighing more than 20 pounds and holds the lead going into the final day of the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series National Championship, operated by American Bass Anglers. The winner receives the coveted berth into the 2012 Bassmaster Classic.

Jackson moved up from fourth to first on Day Two and backed it up Friday with a limit weighing 20.26 pounds, pushing his total to 58.69.

Allan Glasgow of Ashville, Ala., is hot on his tail. Glasgow again had the biggest bag at 21.15 and has 55.75, less than three pounds back.

Wade Grooms of Bonneau, S.C., had 15.05 on Friday to total 49.74, and first-day leader Kenneth W. Heckel of Lamar, Ind., is fourth with 47.05.
