“This award is truly an honor and I can’t thank Outdoor Channel enough for providing a venue to recognize the work that goes into the Bassmaster television show,” said Mike McKinnis, producer of the show. “This is a validation of all the hard work that goes into getting our show on the air, from every producer and cameraman, our editors and the talented team of Tommy Sanders and Mark Zona.

“Our anglers deserve much of the credit as well. Their ability to show off their talent on the water and teaching abilities in the midst of the drama created by an Elite event has brought fans to the show from all over the world.”

The Bassmasters television show was part of a full slate of fishing shows nominated for the Golden Moose, including Mark Zona’s Zona’s Awesome Fishing Show and Dave Mercer’s Facts of Fishing.

“The award is the pinnacle in outdoor television,’’ McKinnis said. “The Golden Moose awards showcase the best of the best, and we are really honored to be recognized in that group.”

“We are extremely pleased that the judges recognize the outstanding work of JM in producing The Bassmasters,” said Bruce Akin, CEO of B.A.S.S. “We also want to thank the Outdoor Channel for sponsoring these prestigious awards and for all they do to promote fishing and the outdoors.”

The Golden Moose Awards took place at the Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev., on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Nearly 2,000 outdoor industry leaders, TV personalities and lucky fans attended the awards show. A total of 17 Golden Moose Awards were presented throughout the evening.
