Iaconelli on his spot quickly

Mike Iaconelli made his first cast about five minutes after the 6:15 a.m. launch today. He hasn't left Seibold Creek since the tournament started, but it's a big area. James Overstreet and I are following Ike today. We saw Bobby Lane come in here shortly after Iaconelli arrived, but he's nowhere near.

Ike begins the day with a 4-pound, 11-ounce lead over David Walker, which is nothing on Lake Guntersville, where Randy Howell came from 11th place, 9 pounds out of the lead, to win the Classic two years ago.

Unless the cold front that came through last night drastically shuts down the bite, it looks like it will take right around 100 pounds to win this. Iaconelli has 53-1. He said yesterday that he needs somewhere between 22 and 25 pounds a day to win.

The water surface temperature did cool considerably overnight. After warming into the mid-60s this week, it's 62.3 degrees in Seibold Creek this morning.
