K-Pink likes Lake Barkley

It took Kevin Short only 2 1/2 hours to catch more bass on Lake Barkley than he did in two days on Kentucky Lake. Way more. Short just had a flurry of three 3-pounders and now has 9-5. He caught one more fish than a dead man at Kentucky Lake, and it weighed 1-11, leaving him in 122nd place. Short is way too good an angler to have two days in a row like he did at Kentucky Lake.

"This lake has had my number for so many years it's not even funny," Short said on stage Thursday. "I've got friends over here that have told me to come over and they'll show me how to catch 'em here. But I wouldn't be much of a bass pro if somebody showed me how to catch 'em on this lake."

With that kind of professional attitude toward his craft, it would be fitting if Short made the top 10 and earned a $10,000 check here. But he might not be thrilled about going back to Kentucky Lake again tomorrow.
