It's been lights out the past hour for the three-ring circus that is Edwin Evers, Kevin VanDam and Derek Remitz. Those are the leaders, in that order, according to BASSTrakk, and they've been smashing 'em for awhile now., although in different areas of the lake. Remitz is having the biggest day of all. He just added a 5-pounder to give him an estimated 26-6 for the day.
VanDam is up to 24 fish caught on the day. He had a 20-minute flurry just past 11 a.m. when he boated a 6-pounder, a 5 and two 4s. Evers added a 5-4 at 10:43 to put him over 23 pounds for the day. He's looking for a giant now, in hopes of making one final big cull, like Ott DeFoe did yesterday when he caught the 7-5 at about 2:15 p.m. It was DeFoe's first fish since he'd abandoned his prime spots at 10 a.m.
