Jason Christie is the latest example of how quickly your fortunes can change on Kentucky Lake. Christie had just over 5 pounds in his livewell at 9:30 a.m. In the next 15 minutes he caught 5 fish, including two 4-pounders, that allowed him to cull up to about 16 1/2 pounds, which has him in the top 20, barely. Brent Ehrler has followed the same pattern, going from low single digits to 15 1/2 pounds.
Unofficially, Brandon Lester is the leader with 22-15 and Brett Hite is a close second with 22-0. But Kevin VanDam’s totals haven’t appeared in the BASSTrakk chart yet, and he’s got over 20 pounds for sure. Cell phone service, or lack thereof, will make these numbers even more unofficial than usual this week, so keep that in mind.
