Yoopers? Just good ole boys

Ron Young, my camera boat driver, is a lifelong resident of the Upper Peninsula, having lived here for 69-plus years.
He's what you would refer to as a "Yooper," which is lengthening of "U.P.", the initials of Upper Peninsula.
Young and I agree a Yooper is pretty much the equivalent of a good ole boy down south.
They live in a breathtaking environment with huge deer running the woods, big walleye swimming about and smallmouth bass in the 8-pound range.
If it didn't get so cold up here, it would be worth moving here.
