Low expectations today

Don't expect big weights at today's Day One All-Star weigh-in at Lake Muskegon. Hank Cherry said he couldn't find anything shallow in practice this week, so he's concentrating on deeper stuff today.

"I didn't catch many, but the ones I caught were good ones," Cherry said. "The goal is one bite an hour."

So what would five "good ones" weigh?

"About 14 pounds," Cherry said.

Skeet Reese has similar expectations.

"Twelve-and-a-half to 13 would be decent," Reese said. "I think you'll see 15 or 16 pounds. Thirteen is the number I've got in my head.

"I talked to several other guys. In 12 hours of practice, we were all getting 9 to 12 bites a day. That's in 12 hours."

The All-Stars will get 8 hours today.
